Why This Mom Changed T-Shirts 26 Times While Running the NYC Marathon

Categories: Meet Our Friends, News, Runners Program, Why Support Research?

This week 18 marathon runners are hitting the NYC streets in all 5 boroughs to raise funds and awareness for LuMind RDS while surviving a very challenging running event — the TCS New York City Marathon. One of our dedicated LuMind RDS runner took it to a whole new level of awareness by dedicating each mile of her run to an individual with Down syndrome. To make it even more fun and challenging, she is wearing 26 T-shirts — each with the name of the individual she is running for — so she can proudly display their name when running their mile. You can see the news report on abcnews.go.com, including a video of all the individuals honored during her run.
