Director of Development and Research Sponsors
While raising four sons and a daughter in a Chicago suburb — now aged 30, 28, 25, 20, and 9 — Margie Doyle translated her experience as an HR Director to fundraising initiatives for Cystic Fibrosis and several local nonprofit organizations.
When she learned through prenatal testing that Colin, her youngest had Down syndrome, she committed herself to learning everything she could about the condition. She was happy to find research projects underway but she recognized that much more needed to be accomplished. In 2012, she immediately took a leadership role in Chicago to develop Funding Futures Chicago, which has raised over $500,000 for LuMind RDS in the pasts 5 years. She’s been an active volunteer, fundraiser, and board member from 2012 to 2016, presenting at the first World Down Syndrome Day Conference held in at the United Nations in 2012.
Margie has joined LuMind RDS to grow major fundraising initiatives and corporate support for Down syndrome research. With nearly 10,000 views of her LinkedIn article, “Opportunity or Responsibility … Down syndrome research,“ Margie is ready to establish a network of major fundraisers throughout the US to fund the path Down syndrome research needs to reach clinical trials.
In their spare time, the Doyle’s enjoy travelling to see their older boys play sports, and spending time on Lake Michigan. Colin, who plays basketball, rides horses, and swims, just transferred from public to private school. He’s enjoying the new opportunity, and meeting lots of new people.
